It seems Hasbro have entered into agreements with some outlets in the USA, most notably Target stores and Toys 'r' us to produce Mighty Muggs which are exclusive to those retailers. Also, there are special events such as the San Diego and New York comic conventions (SDCC & NYCC) at which Hasbro not only shows off forthcoming releases from its various ranges but they also sometime produce limited edition pieces which are exclusive to these shows. This means, especially in the UK that some of the Mighty Muggs characters are quite hard to find and in some cases really rare. Obviously for the collector, this makes them even more desirable.
